The first marking period has ended, and each family should have received their child’s report card. Conferences are not scheduled until November, but if you have any questions or concerns feel free to call and schedule a conference with me.

Open House is tomorrow night, September 15th at 6:15pm. The first session will begin at 6:30pm and the second session will begin at 7:20pm. It is strongly encouraged for a parent or guardian to attend. It is my preference for children not to attend Open House, but if the lack of a babysitter would be the only reason for not attending then you may bring your child. I hope to see you all tomorrow.
Parent To Do List August 18, 2009
· Sign and Return all forms in your child’s folder that need to be returned.
· Send in a change of clothing that includes a shirt, pants/shorts, under garments, and socks. Place the clothing in large Ziploc bag. Be sure to write your child’s name on the bag.
· Get a membership for your child at your local New Castle County Public Library
Welcome to First Grade 2009-2010 August 9, 2009
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Welcome to First Grade! I am looking forward to working with you and your child. We are going to have a busy year full of “hands on” learning. Pleasantville’s ”Back to School Night” will be held on August 18th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. This will provide you and your child the opportunity to tour the building, find their classroom, and meet the PTA! Hopefully attending the ”Back to School Night” will help to ease some of those first day jitters. For now, continue reading with your child everyday, and brushing up on concepts learned in Kindergarten.
